School Bus Accident in Villemoutiers: Twelve People Injured, Massive Emergency Response

A school bus accident occurred on Monday, February 24, in Villemoutiers, Loiret, triggering a large-scale emergency response, according to France Télévisions.

Twelve Minor Injuries Reported

According to the Loiret prefecture, twelve people — eleven students and the driver — sustained minor injuries. The bus, carrying 34 students, tipped onto its side for reasons still unknown, on departmental road D2160.

Fortunately, the remaining 23 passengers were unharmed. They were quickly taken care of and transported back to their school on a bus provided by the regional council.

Extensive Emergency Services Mobilization

Emergency services responded swiftly and in large numbers:

  • 60 firefighters dispatched
  • 20 emergency vehicles deployed
  • A medical tent set up to treat the injured on site

A photo taken by firefighters and shared by France 3 shows the bus lying on its side by the roadside, highlighting the impact of the crash.

Investigation Underway to Determine the Cause

No other vehicle was involved in the accident, but the exact circumstances remain unclear. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash, as reported by H24 MEDIA.

Thanks to the quick response and coordination of emergency services, those injured received prompt care, preventing more serious consequences.
