Three bodies have been found by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip: those of Orion Hernandez-Radoux, Michel Nissenbaum and Hanan Yablonka. The Israeli army announced on Friday 24 May that it had recovered the bodies of three hostages kidnapped during the attacks on 7 October. They include 32-year-old French-Mexican Orión Hernández-Radoux, whose body was recovered on Thursday night

The father of a young child, Orión Hernández-Radoux was attending the Tribe of Nova electronic music festival at the time of the Hamas attacks. He was the partner of Shani Louk, a 22-year-old German-Israeli woman, whose body was found and repatriated last Friday.

The other two bodies were identified as those of Michel Nissenbaum and Hanan Yablonka. ‘After an identification procedure carried out by doctors from the National Institute of Forensic Medicine and the Israeli police, the families were informed during the day’, said Daniel Hagari, army spokesman, on X.

According to Tsahal, the bodies were discovered in Jabaliya, in the north of the Gaza Strip, during a joint operation by the army and the Israeli intelligence service, the Shin Bet. ‘According to reliable information, it seems that the abductees were murdered during the attack on 7 October and then kidnapped by Hamas terrorists’, said Daniel Hagari.

On his X account, Emmanuel Macron expressed his ‘immense sadness’ at the news of Orión Hernández-Radoux’s death. ‘My thoughts are with his family and friends. We stand by them. France remains more committed than ever to the release of all hostages”, he declared.

Orión Hernández-Radoux was the 43rd French victim of the Hamas attack on 7 October. Two French hostages, Ofer Kalderon and Ohad Yahalomi, are still being held. In total, 121 hostages or bodies of victims kidnapped by Hamas are still being held in the Gaza Strip, according to the Israeli army.
