Nogent-sur-Oise: Teenager Fatally Stabbed, Three Young Suspects in Custody

A deadly altercation broke out on the evening of Tuesday, May 20, in the parking lot of a supermarket in Nogent-sur-Oise (Oise), where a 17-year-old teenager was fatally wounded with a bladed weapon. Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services, the young victim succumbed to his injuries later that evening at the hospital.

Violent Confrontation Outside a Supermarket

According to preliminary statements from the Senlis public prosecutor’s office, the attack occurred shortly after 7 p.m. near a Lidl supermarket on Rue Gambetta. Prosecutors described the incident as a “brawl” involving several individuals. While the exact type of weapon has not been officially confirmed, sources close to the investigation suggest it may have been a hatchet.

Three suspects—aged 16, 17, and 19—were quickly apprehended and taken into custody. None of them had prior records. A formal homicide investigation has been opened and assigned to the criminal police in Creil.

Prosecutor Loïc Abrial, who visited the scene on Tuesday night, confirmed that the investigation is underway and urged caution regarding speculation. “The motive for the attack is still unknown at this stage,” he stated.

Emotions are running high in the local community. Moktar Allouache, deputy mayor of Nogent-sur-Oise, expressed his shock, describing a scene of extreme violence.
