Thunderstorms, sometimes intense and accompanied by heavy rain, are expected from late Friday.

Call for extreme caution

In a bulletin published at 10am this Friday, November 8, Météo France placed the departments of Aude and Hérault under orange vigilance due to the risk of violent thunderstorms, heavy rainfall and possible flooding.

The intense rainfall episode is expected to begin at around 6pm on Friday, according to the weather institute, and the orange vigilance will remain in force throughout Saturday.

The bulletin warns of the arrival of violent thunderstorms in the evening, accompanied by sustained rainfall of up to 50-60 mm per hour. Expected rainfall totals for this event could reach between 80 and 120 mm, with local peaks of 150 to 180 mm.
