The A13 motorway between Paris and the rest of France is due to reopen on Friday 10 May

Since 19 April, the A13 motorway has been closed to traffic due to the discovery of a ‘transverse crack in the Saint-Cloud sector’. Although the complete reopening is scheduled for the end of June, there is a new development in the case

Initially scheduled for Saturday 11 May, the reopening of the motorway has been brought forward to Friday 10 May for light vehicles, as reported by Le Parisien and confirmed by the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture to H24 MEDIA. However, heavy goods vehicles remain banned.

However, this reopening only concerns the direction of traffic from the provinces to Paris. For the other direction, work will be undertaken by the Hauts-de-Seine departmental council from next week, including opening up the carriageway to a depth of around five metres for the necessary repairs.

According to the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture, analyses indicate that work carried out outside the structure, on a nearby worksite, is probably the cause of the ground subsidence and the crack observed.

Despite this, the situation remains complicated for motorists since the closure of the A13, with significant traffic congestion.
