Japan had requested the extradition of Paul Watson, accusing him of causing damage and injuries aboard a Japanese whaling vessel in 2010
“Paul is free!” announced his association Sea Shepherd on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, December 17. The renowned environmental activist, known for his fight against whaling, had been detained in Denmark since July, awaiting the government’s decision on Japan’s extradition request. His lawyer, François Zimmeray, confirmed to Libération that Watson could now resume his fight for the protection of nature, a cause he believes is crucial for humanity and justice.
