Almost summer-like weather expected this week with sunshine and mild temperatures

A Taste of Spring: Sunshine and Mild Temperatures This Week

After a winter marked by grey skies and heavy rainfall, the sun is making a strong comeback across the country. Thanks to a powerful anticyclone covering much of Europe, near-summer weather is expected in southern France. However, a few disturbances will disrupt this idyllic scene starting Wednesday, particularly in the west and south.

A Sunny Start to the Week

By Monday afternoon, clear skies will dominate across the country after a misty morning in parts of the southwest and northeast. Temperatures will range from 15°C to 22°C, with 14°C in Paris, 17°C in Brest, and 22°C in Montpellier.

On Tuesday, the trend continues: bright weather from morning to evening over most of the country. Morning temperatures will remain cool, with 4°C in Amiens and just 1°C in Chaumont, while the afternoon will be milder, with highs between 13°C and 20°C depending on the region.

Wednesday: Strong Winds and Some Showers in the South

On Wednesday, the north will enjoy uninterrupted sunshine, despite persistent easterly winds. In the south, however, clouds will gradually increase, accompanied by strong Autan winds in Occitanie and the Massif Central, with gusts reaching 90 to 100 km/h. Scattered showers are expected in the southwest and the Massif Central, while temperatures will remain similar to those of Tuesday, ranging from 15°C to 18°C across the country.

A Few Showers Towards the End of the Week

On Thursday, despite predominantly sunny conditions, some localized showers are expected in the south, particularly in Ajaccio, Montpellier, and Perpignan. Temperatures will remain pleasant, averaging 20°C in the afternoon, with morning lows between 4°C and 13°C.

On Friday, some clouds will appear in the west and south, while the north and east will enjoy clear skies. Scattered showers could develop in Biarritz and Perpignan.

Weekend: Mild but Unstable Weather

The weekend is expected to remain generally mild, with pleasant temperatures. However, threatening clouds will gather in the west and around the Mediterranean, bringing a risk of isolated thunderstorms. The sun should still hold its ground in the northeast.

A preview of spring is gradually setting in, with a mix of bright spells and localized disturbances. Get your sunglasses ready, but keep an umbrella within reach for the end of the week.
