A Day of Glory for PSG: Victory Parade, Presidential Reception, and a Citywide Celebration

The day after their stunning victory in the Champions League final against Inter Milan (5–0), Paris Saint-Germain is celebrating its first-ever European crown in grand style this Sunday, June 1, 2025. From public jubilation to official honors, the French capital is pulsating with festivities.

A Red and Blue Tide on the Champs-Élysées

After a short night, the PSG players and staff departed Munich in the early afternoon. Landing around 3:30 p.m. at Roissy–Charles de Gaulle Airport, they immediately began a packed day of celebrations. Two brand-new double-decker buses, emblazoned with “Champions of Europe,” awaited the team for a jubilant parade down the Champs-Élysées. Thousands of supporters had gathered on the famed avenue from early in the morning, with up to 110,000 expected according to the Paris police. Some fans had even stationed themselves on overpasses near the airport in hopes of catching a glimpse of their heroes.

The parade began at 5 p.m., cheered on by a sea of red and blue. It was a historic communion between the club and its fans, just 24 hours after a triumph that resonated far beyond French borders—PSG’s commanding performance having earned praise from international media.

From the Élysée to the Parc: A Celebration on a Grand Scale

At 7 p.m., the players were received at the Élysée Palace by President Emmanuel Macron, before heading to the Parc des Princes for the final event of the day: a large-scale celebration with concerts. Open exclusively to season ticket holders, the evening promises a spectacular show featuring major artists starting at 9 p.m., capping off a momentous day of joy.

However, the celebrations were marred by several incidents. A provisional report from the Interior Ministry recorded two deaths, nearly 200 injuries, and more than 550 arrests across France. In Paris, Prefect Laurent Nuñez described the security situation as “neither a success nor a failure,” while acknowledging the efforts of law enforcement in preventing further unrest.

Despite these somber notes, the day will go down in PSG history as the club finally cemented its place among Europe’s footballing elite. A hard-earned star, celebrated in unforgettable fashion.
