Donald Trump is considering the idea of running for the White House again, provided voters deem him “competent”. Looks like Mr. Trump’s concerns are far removed from those of the financial markets!

In front of his supporters gathered in Washington this Wednesday, November 13, the president-elect suggested the possibility of running for the presidency again. Although the US Constitution forbids such a move, Donald Trump hinted at the idea during his speech to an audience of Republicans.

“I don’t think I’ll run again, unless you’re thinking, ‘He’s competent, let’s consider another option’”, he quipped, eliciting laughter from the assembly

In July, the Republican candidate had already made similar remarks to a Christian audience. If successful in November, he said: “In four years, you won’t even need to vote. We’ll have solved things so well that it won’t be necessary”, according to a Reuters reminder. The exact meaning of these words remained ambiguous, especially as the former president never acknowledged his defeat by Democrat Joe Biden in 2020.

On Wednesday, the current president welcomed his successor to the White House, affirming that the transition would take place “under the best possible conditions”.
