Israel: explosions in the centre of the country, several buses hit but no injuries reported

Israel: Explosions in the Center of the Country, Army Strengthens Operations in the West Bank

Three bombs exploded Thursday evening in Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv, targeting buses parked in storage areas. Two other explosive devices were discovered and are being neutralized by security forces. No injuries have been reported, but the incident has been described as “large-scale” by the Israeli police, who suspect a terrorist attack.

A Coordinated Attack and an Immediate Security Response

The explosives, equipped with a timed mechanism, appear to have been placed in a coordinated manner at multiple locations. The Israeli police have deployed significant bomb disposal and law enforcement units to secure the area and search for potential suspects. One of the recovered devices bore an inscription in Arabic reading “revenge from Tul Karem,” a city in the West Bank where the Israeli army has recently carried out operations against groups it considers terrorist organizations.

In response to this threat, the head of the Tel Aviv police ordered the temporary suspension of all buses, trams, and trains for inspection. The public has been urged to avoid the affected areas and report any suspicious objects.

Reinforcement of Military Operations in the West Bank

Following the explosions, the Israeli Defense Minister ordered an intensification of military operations in West Bank refugee camps, particularly in Tul Karem. “In light of the serious attempted attacks against Israeli civilians, the army will strengthen its actions to eliminate terrorist threats,” he stated.

Government Emergency Meeting

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has convened an emergency meeting to assess the security situation and coordinate the state’s response. This attack comes as Israel remains on high alert amid growing regional tensions.

The coming hours will be crucial in understanding the scale of this attack and its potential repercussions on Israel’s security policy.
