Louise’s murder in Essonne: the DNA of the main suspect found on the child’s body, what the investigation reveals

Murder of Louise in Essonne: Investigation Narrows Down on a 23-Year-Old Suspect

The investigation into the murder of Louise, an 11-year-old girl found dead on the night of February 7 to 8 in a wooded area in Longjumeau (Essonne), is progressing rapidly. The body of the young schoolgirl, who disappeared after leaving André-Maurois Middle School in Épinay-sur-Orge, showed numerous wounds caused by a sharp object. However, the murder weapon remains missing.

A Main Suspect and Three Relatives in Custody
Since Monday evening, a 23-year-old man suspected of murdering a minor under the age of 15 has been questioned by investigators from the Organized and Specialized Crime Division of Versailles. He has cuts on his hands and inconsistencies in his alibi. His DNA was found on the victim’s hands, confirming suspicions already raised by surveillance footage and the discovery of a suspicious object near the crime scene.

Three of his relatives—his father (49), mother (48), and girlfriend (23)—are also in custody for failing to report a crime. The Évry prosecutor’s office announced the extension of their custody and will hold a press conference on Wednesday at 6 p.m. to update the investigation.

Abandoned Leads and Unanswered Questions
Several initial leads did not pan out. A couple in their twenties, arrested on Saturday, and a 55-year-old mother with her 23-year-old son, arrested in Rouen, were ultimately cleared of suspicion. Louise’s autopsy revealed no signs of sexual violence, although the motive for the crime remains undetermined.

Psychological Support for the Community
In response to the emotional impact of this tragedy, mourning spaces have been opened in Épinay-sur-Orge and Longjumeau. An emergency medical-psychological support unit is available until Thursday, reachable at 01 69 13 95 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. In case of emergency, call 15.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the precise circumstances of Louise’s murder, while the community awaits answers and justice.
