The Lydie Logé Case: Monique Olivier Admits Her Involvement in the Murder of the Young Woman by Michel Fourniret

After years of denial, the former wife of the serial killer has confessed to having witnessed the kidnapping and murder of Lydie Logé, who disappeared in 1993.

Monique Olivier, former accomplice of Michel Fourniret, recently admitted her role in the kidnapping and murder of Lydie Logé, who disappeared in 1993 in the Orne region. Lydie Logé, a 29-year-old mother, vanished after doing her Christmas shopping. Her body has never been found, but evidence, including DNA traces, led to the reopening of the investigation. In 2020, Michel Fourniret, who died in May 2021, confessed to the crime. Until now, Monique Olivier had denied her involvement but has finally admitted to witnessing the attempted rape and subsequent murder of Lydie Logé.

Investigations carried out between 1994 and 2009 had previously led to no convictions, but DNA evidence found in Fourniret’s van helped reignite the case in 2018. In December 2020, the serial killer was charged with “kidnapping, illegal detention, and murder,” while Monique Olivier was charged with complicity. After years of denial, she has now confirmed her presence at the crime scene. A visit to the crime location in the Orne is planned in the coming days to gather more evidence.
