Mazan rape case: Caroline Darian lodges a rape complaint against her father, Dominique Pelicot, husband of Gisèle Pelicot

Mazan Rape Case: Caroline Darian Accuses Her Father Dominique Pelicot of Rape and Chemical Submission

A new complaint revives the Mazan rape case, with disturbing revelations about alleged abuse suffered by Caroline Darian over a decade.

A Complaint Filed After Years of Silence

Caroline Darian, 46, filed a complaint on March 5, 2025, at the Versailles Judicial Court against her father, Dominique Pelicot, who had already been sentenced to twenty years in prison for the aggravated rape of his wife, Gisèle Pelicot. She accuses him of sexual abuse over a ten-year period, from 2010 to 2020, during which she claims to have been sedated and subjected to chemical submission.

This complaint, filed with the support of her new lawyer, Me Florence Rault, cites serious charges: rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, and the administration of substances intended to impair judgment.

Disturbing Evidence Found During the Investigation

During the investigation of the Mazan rape case, compromising evidence was discovered on Dominique Pelicot’s computer. Two photos of an unconscious Caroline Darian, wearing underwear that did not belong to her, were found, taken in different locations, including the family home in the Paris region. These photos echoed the positioning of her mother before her own assaults.

In addition to the photos, investigators found comparative mother/daughter photo montages and files with explicit names such as “my daughter naked on July 9, 2020.” Skype conversations also revealed that Dominique Pelicot had shared images of his daughter with an anonymous internet user.

An Incomplete Investigation

Despite these discoveries, no toxicological, medical, or gynecological examinations were ordered for Caroline Darian during the initial trial. Her lawyer laments that the investigation focused solely on Gisèle Pelicot, overlooking grave and consistent evidence concerning her daughter.

“There was no effort to uncover the truth for her daughter,” Me Rault said, hoping this new complaint will reignite investigations and finally establish Dominique Pelicot’s accountability.

Caroline Darian’s Fight for the Truth

Faced with her father’s denials—he shouted, “I never touched you!” during the Avignon trial—Caroline Darian remains resolute. Founder of the association “M’endors pas” (Don’t Fall Asleep) against chemical submission, she has published a testimonial book, So That We Remember, to raise awareness for victims who, like her, have neither evidence nor clear memories of the abuse they endured.

“I hope that with this complaint, justice will finally do its job,” she confided. With this new legal step, she hopes for thorough investigations and that the truth will finally come to light.
