Miss World 2025: Thailand’s Suchata Chuangsri crowned, France’s Axelle René (Miss Martinique) stands out in the final

Miss World 2025: Thailand’s Suchata Chuangsri Crowned, Martinique’s Aurélie Joachim Makes the Top 5

The 71st edition of the Miss World pageant, held on Saturday, May 31 in Hyderabad, India, crowned Suchata Chuangsri, Miss Thailand, as the new titleholder. She succeeds Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic, Miss World 2024, securing Thailand a long-awaited victory on the global stage.

Among the 112 contestants, three French representatives carried the hopes of the nation and its overseas territories: Agathe Cauet, former Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais and first runner-up to Miss France 2023, represented mainland France; Noémie Milne competed as Miss Guadeloupe; and Aurélie Joachim, Miss World Martinique 2025 and former Miss Martinique 2016, flew the flag for Martinique.

A Historic Final for Martinique

It was Aurélie Joachim who made the deepest run, reaching the Top 4 finalists alongside contestants from Thailand, Poland, and Ethiopia. She ultimately earned the title of third runner-up, marking a historic achievement for Martinique on the Miss World stage.

Neither Agathe Cauet nor Noémie Milne advanced to the Top 40, despite strong online support. The competition’s continental structure adds complexity to the selection process: France competes in the Europe category, while Guadeloupe and Martinique, as overseas territories, fall under the Americas and Caribbean zone.

A Celebration of Diversity and Purpose

Hosted for the first time in Hyderabad, capital of India’s Telangana state, this 2025 edition highlighted humanitarian values and cultural richness. Alongside traditional pageantry, contestants took part in public speaking challenges and showcased their social commitments, in line with the “Beauty With a Purpose” initiative at the heart of Miss World.
