Parcoursup: Admission Results Are In – Time for Crucial Choices for Future Students
This Monday, June 2, marks the beginning of the main admission phase on Parcoursup, the French national platform for post-secondary applications. For nearly one million high school seniors and other candidates, it’s time to discover the decisions from the institutions they applied to earlier this year. This crucial stage will continue through July 10.
What Responses Can You Receive?
There are four types of responses that candidates may see on their dashboard:
“Yes”: The institution has accepted your application.
“Yes, if”: You’ve been accepted, but on the condition of completing additional preparation or support.
“Waiting list”: Your application is being considered, but depends on other candidates’ decisions.
“No”: Your application has been declined.
Initially, candidates will only be able to view their results. Later in the evening, they’ll be able to begin responding to offers. From then on, each morning until July 10, application statuses will be updated based on evolving waitlists. Notifications will be sent by email, SMS, and through each applicant’s personal Parcoursup account.
Responding on Time Is Mandatory
Every offer must be answered within the given deadline: for results received between June 2 and 4, the final deadline is June 5 at 11:59 p.m. After this time, the offer will be withdrawn and given to another candidate.
If multiple offers are received, the candidate must choose just one. It is not possible to accept more than one offer at the same time. However, applicants may keep waitlisted options—but only if they rank them by preference between June 6 and 10. Any unranked options will be deleted automatically on June 11.
If You’re on the Waiting List—or Have No Offers
Those placed on a waiting list must remain patient: spots will be freed as other candidates accept or reject offers. You can track your progress in the queue and compare it to the cutoff ranks from previous years.
If no offers are received—and none of the applications are even waitlisted—Parcoursup will contact the candidate directly to provide support. You will also have the opportunity to submit up to 10 new applications during the complementary phase, which begins on June 11.
What’s New This Year?
One major update in 2025: applicants with waitlisted choices must now rank those options between June 6 and 10. According to the Ministry of Education, this aims to speed up the offer process and ensure more students receive at least one admission offer before the baccalauréat exams begin.
To reduce pressure during exam periods, response deadlines will be suspended from June 16 to 19 (for general and technological streams) and on June 26 (for the vocational stream).
After July 10: Finalizing Enrollment
After the main phase ends on July 10, students who have accepted an offer must complete their enrollment directly with the institution. Remaining waitlisted options will be archived.
Finally, if an application is rejected by a public institution, candidates have the right to request the justification for the decision within one month of receiving it. If necessary, they may challenge the decision through the administrative courts within two months.
