Pierre Palmade jailed in Bordeaux-Gradignan: the actor is serving his sentence after a fatal accident he caused while under the influence of drugs

The 56-year-old actor, who was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment, two of which were unsuspended, was transferred to the Bordeaux prison on Monday.

Pierre Palmade, 56, was transferred to Bordeaux-Gradignan prison (Gironde) on Monday 9 December, according to information reported by BFMTV and confirmed by H24 NEWS. The comedian, who was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment, two of which were unsuspended, was found guilty following a serious road accident on 20 November while driving under the influence of drugs. He did not contest his conviction when he appealed.

The accident, which occurred on 10 February 2023, left three people seriously injured. After three days of sleepless drug-taking, Pierre Palmade crashed into an oncoming car, causing major injuries to a 38-year-old man, his six-year-old son and his 27-year-old sister-in-law, who tragically lost her unborn child.

Following his incarceration, the actor will be able to submit a request for his sentence to be adjusted, which will be examined by a sentence enforcement judge at an adversarial hearing, the Bordeaux public prosecutor’s office said after the sentence was handed down. Palmade will be placed in solitary confinement within the prison.
