Pierre Palmade: the Bordeaux Court of Appeal authorizes his release from prison on an electronic bracelet

Pierre Palmade: Court of Appeal Authorizes His Release from Prison Under Electronic Monitoring

Sentenced to five years in prison, including two to be served, for causing a serious car accident while under the influence of drugs, Pierre Palmade is set to leave Gradignan prison. On Tuesday, April 15, the Bordeaux Court of Appeal approved the adjustment of his sentence. Starting Wednesday morning at 9 a.m., the comedian will serve the remainder of his term under electronic monitoring.

Sentence Adjustment Confirmed Despite Prosecutor’s Appeal

The ruling largely upholds the decision made on March 26 by the sentence enforcement court, although the hours of house arrest have been modified. Palmade, incarcerated since December 2024, had quickly requested a sentence adjustment, which was initially granted but suspended following an appeal by the public prosecutor. The enforcement chamber has now settled the matter, approving his supervised release.

The accident, which occurred in February 2023, shocked the public: three members of the same family were injured, including a pregnant woman who lost her unborn child. Palmade was found guilty of “unintentional injuries” aggravated by drug use. As part of his release conditions, he is now prohibited from contacting the victims.

During his time at Gradignan prison, the actor was held under special conditions typically reserved for high-profile inmates or those in sensitive professions: a private cell, separate recreation hours, and enhanced security measures.

Although his sentence is now being served at home, Pierre Palmade remains under strict judicial supervision and must comply fully with the terms imposed by the court.
