PSG Makes History with a Landmark Champions League Triumph

Munich, May 31, 2025 — After years of European heartbreak, Paris Saint-Germain has finally conquered the Champions League—and in breathtaking fashion. With a commanding 5-0 win over Inter Milan in the final, PSG delivered the most lopsided victory in Champions League final history, cementing its place among Europe’s elite.

A Youthful Masterclass

From the opening whistle, PSG dominated the match with relentless pace and precision. Achraf Hakimi struck first in the 12th minute, followed by a brace from breakout star Désiré Doué (20’, 63’). Khvicha Kvaratskhelia added a fourth (73’), and 19-year-old Senny Mayulu sealed the rout in the 87th minute.

Doué, just 19 years old, became the youngest French player to score twice in a Champions League final—a performance that etched his name among Europe’s rising stars.

Luis Enrique, the Visionary Architect

Since arriving in 2023, Spanish manager Luis Enrique has reshaped PSG with a focus on youth, cohesion, and collective play. The result: a fearless, fluid squad capable of dismantling seasoned European powerhouses.

This victory marks Enrique’s second Champions League title as a manager, following his 2015 triumph with FC Barcelona. It also places him in the prestigious circle of coaches who have won the competition with two different clubs.

The End of a Long Wait

Backed by Qatari ownership since 2011, PSG has long pursued European glory. After painful exits—including the 2020 final loss to Bayern Munich—this title is a vindication of over a decade of ambition and rebuilding.

PSG becomes only the second French club to lift the Champions League trophy, after Olympique de Marseille in 1993—finally ending a decades-long wait for French football.
