According to the plaintiff’s lawyer, the incident took place after a concert in Saint-Étienne, “in the presence of numerous witnesses”, some of whom captured the scene on video

New sexual assault complaint against Slimane

The Saint-Étienne public prosecutor’s office confirmed on Tuesday that a second complaint has been lodged against singer Slimane, this time for sexual assault. The artist, already under investigation for sexual harassment, is accused by a technician who took part in a show organized at the Zénith in Saint-Étienne on December 17.

According to Anne-Sophie Charrieras, the plaintiff’s lawyer, the incident took place after the concert, in the presence of several witnesses. “Some of them filmed the scene”, she asserts, adding that Slimane’s brother intervened to stop the assault and asked the witnesses to erase the recorded videos.

A previous report of sexual harassment
This new complaint is in addition to the one filed on October 28 by another technician on the tour, also represented by Me Charrieras. The latter accused Slimane of sending him pornographic messages and videos on the same evening. The preliminary investigation into this first report is underway, and the complainant was heard on Monday by the judicial police.

The plaintiffs, who prefer to remain anonymous, describe themselves as “whistle-blowers” wishing to prevent further similar behavior on the part of the artist, according to their lawyer.

A career in the spotlight
Slimane, 35, known for winning The Voice in 2016, is currently on tour. Last May, he won fourth place at Eurovision with his song Mon amour. Faced with these accusations, the artist has not yet reacted publicly.

The situation raises many questions and could have repercussions on his career, as investigations continue to establish the facts.
