“Top Chef” 2025: A Michelin Star Up for Grabs for the Winner

Season 16 of Top Chef, the popular culinary competition on M6, is breaking new ground: for the first time, the winner will have the chance to earn a Michelin star. This announcement marks a historic partnership between the show and the prestigious Michelin Guide, with its inspectors taking part in the selection process while maintaining their anonymity.

Michelin Inspectors Immersed in the Show

Michelin inspectors will participate in several challenges, evaluating the full menu created by the finalists. Hidden in the kitchens, they will be tasked with judging the technical skills, flavor harmony, and culinary personality of the contestants. Their verdict will be made collectively, determining whether or not the winner’s restaurant deserves a Michelin star.

An Ephemeral Restaurant for the Winner

To host this unique evaluation, a special ephemeral restaurant will be created. The winner will take the reins of this pop-up establishment the day after the final airs, for several weeks, with or without the coveted star.

An Exceptional Jury and High Standards

This season will feature a star-studded jury, including Hélène Darroze, Glenn Viel, Paul Pairet, Stéphanie Le Quellec, Philippe Etchebest, and Dominique Crenn. They will witness the meticulous analysis of Michelin inspectors, who apply a strict methodology to guide food lovers to the best restaurants in the world.

A New Era for “Top Chef”

Since its inception in 2010, Top Chef has become a launchpad for a new generation of talented chefs. To date, 27 former contestants have earned one or more Michelin stars after their appearance on the show. This new season, with Michelin’s direct involvement, promises to further accelerate the recognition of future culinary stars.
